LUPULUS: TRUST HURTS
Privacy policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Your game stays on your phone. Here we explain what the app saves, what happens when you visit the website and how you can manage your information.
Who is responsible
This policy covers the Lupulus Android app and www.lupulus.app. The project publisher and data controller for the website and contact requests is Michele Simone Frattarelli, publishing as FrattaHouse Studios™.
For privacy questions or requests: michelesimonefrattarelli@gmail.com.
Data in the app
The app works offline. It stores entered names or nicknames, the game and assigned roles, actions and votes needed for play, results and evening statistics on the device. It also saves language, audio, timing and other game preferences.
If you enable the drinking variant, it also saves selected drinks, strengths, levels and sips assigned by the game. These are game tallies: the app does not measure what anyone actually drinks. Nicknames are fine; players do not need to provide a full name, email address or date of birth.
This information runs the game, lets you resume it and remembers evening preferences. It is not sent to us or automatically shared with other services. The app has no ads, profiling tools or analytics SDKs, creates no accounts and does not access contacts, location, camera or microphone.
Storage and deletion
Local data stays on the device until it is replaced or deleted. Starting a new game does not reset the evening. Start a new evening, in the Tonight tab and available after the game ends, resets evening statistics and preferences; it is not a full app reset.
To remove all local data, use Android Settings → Apps → Lupulus → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app. Menu names may differ on your phone. A normal update keeps saved data. We have no remote copies of game data and cannot recover or delete it remotely.
App data is kept in the app’s private storage on the device. The app’s automatic Android backup is disabled. People sharing the phone can still see public game information: avoid entering unnecessary personal information.
The website and downloads
The website introduces the game and distributes its installer. It does not receive app saves. The website saves its language preference in your browser. The browser may also keep temporary copies of resources to load pages. You can remove them by clearing website data in your browser settings; this also removes any local saves from previous web versions of the game. The website code includes no advertising trackers or profiling tools.
The website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. When you open a page or download a file, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP address, browser and device information, the requested page or file, time and security information. This processing delivers content, maintains the service and prevents abuse; it is based on the legitimate interest in providing a working, secure website.
Technical data is retained as needed to operate and secure the service, according to the provider’s applicable settings and terms. We keep no separate archive linking visits or downloads to players. Cloudflare may also process data outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards described in its policy.
Links and contact requests
Opening the website or this policy from the app launches your browser after confirmation. The website processing described above then applies. If you use a store to download or update the app, the store processes its own data under its own policy; this app does not send it player names, roles or game statistics.
If you write to us, we process your email address and message to reply and handle the request, based on the legitimate interest in providing support and any applicable legal obligations. Correspondence is retained as long as needed to handle the request and any legal requirements. Google provides the contact mailbox and processes email under its own terms. Do not send secret roles or other player information unless it is needed for your request.
Your choices and rights
For personal data we process, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability and object to processing where provided by applicable law. Write to the address above. For game data held only on your phone, use the local controls described on this page.
You may also lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority, including the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Policy updates
We will update this page if the app, website or data handling changes. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will present it in the appropriate context.
