LUPULUS: TRUST HURTS
Transparency
An experiment on screen. Real evenings together.
How we used AI to develop the app, and the choices behind what you see, read and hear.
Made for time together
Lupulus is a personal project by FrattaHouse Studios, made for the enjoyment of playing with friends, with no profit-making aim. It is also an experiment in vibe coding: exploring how far AI-assisted development can take a mobile app.
The hope is simple: that someone else can enjoy a good game night too, without ads or promotional pop-ups interrupting the game.
Where AI helped
Code, interface and text. AI tools helped write and revise code, explore layouts, prepare Italian and English text, and create automated checks.
Illustrations. Generative tools were used to create and edit images through successive proposals and revisions, following creative direction for composition, colours, expressions and visual consistency.
Sound. AI assistance also supported the code used to synthesize music and effects, and the editing and volume balancing of audio tracks.
Human choices, repeated revisions
The person behind the project sets its direction, chooses between proposals and requests changes. Development has included many rounds of visual review, listening, gameplay checks and automated tests.
AI is part of this process. The decisions about what to keep, improve and publish remain human.
Audio, fonts and credits
The project uses several kinds of material. Audio combines software synthesis with third-party recordings released under CC0 or identified by their sources as public domain. Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
The relevant sources and terms are recorded in the audio credits and font licence files included with the app.
During a game
AI was used during development. During play, the app runs on your device: it does not call AI services or send them player names, roles or game statistics.
